INVISIBLE MAN

An official denial that the Chief Executive of the Council has left received today. Not surprising that people might think so given his absence from all Council meetings in recent months !

And now Fisher's fallen on his sword, too! Well, fancy that. Who's left to turn out the lights?

It seems that the ever-reliable County Press got the scoop on County Hall who even on Thursday were denying that Mr Fisher was going in an email to all staff. Then, in the afternoon of Friday - CP having broken the story - it seems that Fisher finally fell off his perch, having rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. County Hall had to rush out another email to reveal all this excitement to the waiting fans outside, who were already laying wreaths at the gates of County Hall, lighting candles and singing softly to themselves as they comforted one another, looking upwards into the grey sky in the hope of seeing the spirit of the great man flitting skyward from his office one last time.

The cadaverous Mr Fisher was alwys doomed from the day of the count..

He was one of the handful who thought the last administration were doing a great job!

Yes, he may have been bald but perhaps the best thing that can be said of his tenure is that he did little harm - albeit that he did little else, just keeping out of the s**t in that job must be a major achievement.
