I need add nothing further to the report in the CP today, with the Island's Tory MP taking both Labour's and the 'Standards not Tiers' position on the latest schools 'consultation'. No unquestioning acceptance from him of the 'No change is not an option" mantra. Probably because unlike some of his colleagues at County Hall he thinks things through - even if I don't often agree with him.
What with him being photographed with pro-Palestine demonstrators outside his office last Friday, he is rapidly heading headlong to some of my long held political opinions !

Turner is wrong, as are you. Island schools cannot keep the existing system, no other part of the UK is sticking with three tiers. Our results remain poor, well below the national average. You are both defending the indefensible!
Having said that I beleive the big issue not being addressed here is the lack of ambition of too many island parents.
I am defending students, parents and teachers who are absolutely fed up with the constant uncertainty. A decision to change should have been made ages ago if that is what was wanted. Years later we are still messing around.
I agree Geoff, they've wasted almost two years and the Libs before them were even worse, they should feel shame.
That's all history now, please let's have some proper Leadership on schools, for children, parents and staff, it's scandalously overdue.
