At tonight's Cabinet in East Cowes, the new developer for Pan was unanimously agreed to be Miller Homes. No financial details will be released until contracts have been finalised. The decision was made on the recommendation of a panel of IW Council, Spectrum Housing Group & PNP officers, who had evaluated the three bids against agreed criteria.
I was not involved in the decision in anyway, did not want to be, and do not know any of the financial details.
More about Miller Homes can be seen at:- no, sorry, their website is not very good at all.

Are you confident that this won't be the biggest single planning disaster in the history of the Isle of Wight?
Your thoughts on the council's housing strategy generally would be welcome, too.
Robert Jones
Not at all Robert. As you know the Island has a proud record of successful planning - the Undercliff Road, the Ryde Interchange, Newport traffic management - why should this project be any different?
WHY COULDN'T THEY USE AND WORK WITH A LOCAL DEVELOPER? MANY OF THESE BUILDERS WILL NOW BE BUSSED IN FROM THE MAINLAND.
CLAIMING THE NEW HOMES WILL BE 'AFFORDABLE' AND FOR 'LOCALS ONLY' IS TOSH, BONKERS, HOW CAN THEY STOP ANYONE BUYING THESE NEW HOMES? MAKING SUCH CLAIMS IS DISHONEST, LIKE ALL HOMES, THESE WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.
Because none bid for it, probably because none are up to the size of this major scheme.
The 240 affordable homes are for rent through Medina HA and will be allocated to those at the top of the IW housing register - Islanders.
Of course anyone can buy a house that's for sale, of which there will be 560 - whatever their nationality, regional identity, colour, creed, etc. Its called the marketplace.
Its a pit that the Council's Westminster communications consultancy hasn't learnt to communicate these answers to these ongoing concerns
