WATCHDOG EXAMINES WASTE
The watchdog committee that examines decisions made by the Isle of Wight Council has called on the local authority to increase its already high rates of recycling.
The Scrutiny Committee, chaired by Labour member Cllr Geoff Lumley , heard from waste and recycling officers at the council. Although current performance was shown to be very effective, the committee heard that more could be done to encourage public participation. Cllr Lumley said he was surprised to see how little is done to recycle commercial and industrial waste and promised that the committee will investigate the matter further.
If I can do it, why can't the Westminster contractors ensure the same ?
