VIEW FROM A DISTANCE

Back to the Island for a few days before heading off again for another week. Part of me wished I'd stayed away !

Its not just the backlog of 300 emails and the 30 phone messages, not to mention the 3 foot pile of post high enough to help short people see over fences, but what this mad Council has been up to whilst I was away. Two weeks away makes you realise - as you hurriedly catch up - how surreal everything here is. In particular the continuing schools reorganisation saga.........

Makes me wonder if Alice Through the Looking Glass is some sort of template for some politicians.

Back properly next Tuesday......

I know. They appointed Steve Beynon as CEx - don't they realise everyone realises he's an incompetent. He is personally responsible for the gerrymandered 'consultation' and has been 'economical with the truth'over the schools reorganisation. You'd think they'd have more sense. Even those who support two-tier know that there has never been such a disaster as this. Even the LibDems could have done it better - and that's saying something!

Don't go away again Geoff - you never know what they might get up to. The Boy Blunder seems to be living right up to his name.

I'm beginning to think they wait for you to go away before breaking controversial news! Alice Through the Looking Glass precisely.

Beynon is not incompetent, he's just not your choice. His appointment was fairly predictable. Who better to see through their proposals?

If you don't like it - vote 'em out next time. As an unhappy voter it's all any of us can do. I can't wait to wave Gordon goodbye.

You may believe he is very able, most of us don't actually know, (although as you seem so sure about his abilities presumably you have pretty close links to the Council). However, very few people I have spoken to can understand why the Tories have elevated the man who has made them look such twits over the education reforms.

Who decided on the latest U-turn saying that they were not going ahead with changes to the two-tier system (which I strongly support) before the next election? I have heard it was Beynon who put pressure on them as he was worried that his next lot of political masters will not be the useless, dithering ones he has at the moment.

Beynon may or may not be incompetent - but he clearly has some political foresight - unlike the useless Pughnoccio and the little cabal of people that seem unable to see through him.

One thing is sure - the current leadership are under Beynon's thumb - as this appointment so clearly proves.

Funny you use the term "see through their proposals" that's just what the rest of have done - we all know now they will say absolutely anything - but they don't actually believe in anything.

I am ashamed to say I voted Tory last time but never will again - in fact I will probably never vote on the Island again. They are all as bad as each other.
