Well I am back on the Island and ready for the fray. Thanks to all those who sent me messages of condolence over the last 10 days.

Welcome back Geoff, we've missed you. I hope you will find some comfort at this sad time in the knowledge that you are providing a very important and valued voice of opposition in the Council.
Many are looking to you and Deborah at this time - increasingly it seems that you are the lone voices of reason. All the best to you.
Thanks for that. Deborah and I will do our very best to be an effective opposition, but reason is usually easily beaten by sheer voting strength no matter the argument.
Please don't ever think that just because you're outvoted your work goes unappreciated. I know it must be disheartening but please believe there are many who find comfort in the fact that somebody can answer back for us, even if it dosn't often have much effect!
