Last week the Conservatives at County Hall held Newport North ward with the support of just over 10% of the local electorate - or 35% of those who turned out to vote. Their Leader is now claiming it as a "ringing endorsement" of his Council leadership.
Talk about desperate !

I'm on your side, Geoff, but it doesnt look good for your candidate if she could only come third to such a poor winning vote.

Partly. And apathy.....
I don't like the leader of the Conservative Council I'm not sure if he's arrogant or ignorant but what ever this must be good for the Labour and the Lib dems at election time.
He manages to combine both ignorance and arrogance.
